Our Community Risk Management Plan

Our Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP, or Integrated Risk Management Plan (IRMP)) explains how Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service (BFRS) aims to provide outstanding fire and rescue services that help make Bedfordshire safer.  The document covers the period 2019-2023 and has been updated for the 2020/21 financial year to incorporate our new Service values and a new Service action plan for 2020/21 detailing our key projects and work for the year ahead. Whilst the service remains committed to delivering the objectives of this revised document, the reality of the current covid-19 situation means that understandably many of the projects are on-hold. This is to enable the service to focus on maintaining our response to emergencies and supporting our NHS partners through this challenging period.

Our CRMP provides an overview of our plans to deal with local risks such as fires, floods and road traffic collisions. The plan also deals with how BFRS is working to create safer, healthier and more resilient communities, and deliver social and public value to the communities we serve.

The CRMP contains the Service’s key priorities, objectives and recent achievements so that local people are aware of its wider role in protecting and supporting all the county’s communities, delivering a diverse range of community safety initiatives alongside local, regional and national partners.
