Potton Community Fire Station Open Day

Local Firefighters are throwing open the doors of Potton Community Fire Station for an Open Day on Sat 25 Aug between 1:00pm to 3:00pm and inviting everyone from their local community to come along

Come along and see how were protect you and your family and learn about fire safety.

Firefighters are organising an afternoon of fun and discovery for the whole family. This year they are focusing on the importance of having and testing smoke alarms in the home, fire safety for the elderly, and preventing Chimney fires.  There will be a live demonstration showing how quickly a fire can develop in a property.

There will also be other attractions, including:

  • Equipment demos including Hydraulic Rescue Equipment, Working At Height Equipment, Water Rescue Equipment and good old fashioned ladders and more
  • Firefighters Charity stall
  • Fire Appliance displays
  • Food and cakes.
  • Local organisation stalls.
  • Fire Service treasure trail using appliance based trump cards.

The ‘Open Day’ promises to be a fun-filled event with plenty of opportunities for children and adults to learn more about your local fire station and its Firefighters.

Station Commander Steve Duffy says “Everyone is welcome and everyone’s invited. Open days are a fantastic family day out and a great opportunity for people to come and find out about their local station and the services we provide to our local community. People are often surprised to find out about the variety of things we do.

“Why not mention the ‘Open Day’ to all your friends and family."

We look forward to seeing you on the big day!
