Bedford Community Fire Station Open Day

Firefighters are throwing open the doors of Bedford Community Fire Station for an Open Day on Sunday 5 August, between 12pm – 4pm and are inviting everyone from their local community to come along.

Bedford firefighters are organising an afternoon of excitement and discovery for the whole family which promises to be a fun-filled event with plenty of opportunities for children and adults to learn more about your local fire station and its Firefighters.

There will be the chance to see around the fire station and the various appliances and equipment based there. They’ll also be many other attractions, including:

  • Bouncy castle
  • Food and cakes
  • Central Bedfordshire’s virtual simulator car Oscar
  • Fire Cadets obstacle course
  • Fire and road safety advice

The Open Day promises to be a fun-filled event with plenty of opportunities for children and adults to learn more about your local fire station and its Firefighters.

Station Commander, Ivan Finch says “Everyone is welcome and everyone’s invited. Open days are a fantastic family day out and a great opportunity for people to come and find out about their local station and the services we provide to our local community.

“We are always looking for people who’d like to become on-call Firefighters so it’s a great opportunity for people might want to try out as a Firefighter to come along and find out more, or anyone who hasn’t thought about it seeing what we do for their community.

“Why not mention the Open Day to all your friends and family. We look forward to seeing you on the big day”.
