Bedford Community Fire Station 50th Anniversary Open Day Bedford Community Fire Station was opened fifty years ago in July 1969 and this year are celebrating with their Open Day between 12pm and 4pm on Saturday 20 July 2019. Come along and see inside your local Community Fire Station, meet your local firefighters and see the fire appliances and equipment they use to deal with incidents from fires to water rescues. There's plenty of family fun for children of all ages! There’s also plenty of things for children, of all ages, to do. Also present at the Open Day will be our Prevention Team who will provide you with advice and information about fire safety, how to prevent a fire in your home and many other risks. If you are interested in joining the fire service either as a Firefighter, an on-call Firefighter, working in our Control Room taking calls or as a Fire Cadet, staff will be on hand for you to find out more.
