Domestic building fire

At 04.29am on Friday (2) crews from Bedford and Kempston were called to a fire in a two-storey house in Victoria Road, Kempston.  
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reels and jets to extinguish the fire. FRS isolated gas supply and UK Power Networks isolated electricity. Both neighbouring properties checked internally with gas monitoring and thermal imaging camera. There was no fire or smoke spread. Scene handed over to Police. 
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
