Domestic building fire

At 5.51pm on Thursday (24) crews from Ampthill and Toddington were called a small kitchen fire in a first floor flat in Elder Way, Ampthill.  

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued three cats from the property. One female occupant was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation. Crews tackled the fire with a hose reel and safety jet. High-pressured fans were used to clear smoke from the property.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
