At 8.48pm on Thursday (19) a crew from Luton was called to a sofa on fire in Catsbrook Road, Luton.
Firefighters used back pack strayers to extinguish the fire and thermal imaging cameras to look for hotspots.
The cause of the fire was deliberate.
