Fire in the open – A507

At 7.19pm on Monday (23), crews from Ampthill and Kempston attended a grass fire on the A507 Ampthill Bypass, between the A5120 and Clophill (A6).

Firefighters extinguished the fire, which measured approximately 15m x 10m, using two hose reels, four open-ended jets from the water carrier, and stack drags.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
