Wednesday 9 July
At 7.15am on Wednesday (9), crews from Bedford, Biggleswade, Kempston and Luton were called to a fire at a property in Rectory Road, Campton.
On arrival, firefighters found a well-developed fire affecting the first and second floors, with flames having spread to the roof.
Crews used hose reel jets to begin tackling the blaze externally with the support of the aerial platform. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus also entered the building to fight the fire internally using two hose reels.
Once the main fire was brought under control, crews carried out cutting away and damping down to prevent further spread and ensure the scene was safe.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown and will be subject to a tier two fire investigation.
