Domestic building fire – Luton

At 1.38am on Monday (14), crews from Luton and Stopsley attended a house fire in Chesford Road, Luton.

The fire involved the rear ground floor kitchen of a two-storey semi-detached house, measuring approximately 5m x 8m. The ground floor was 50% damaged by fire, with the remainder of the property 100% damaged by smoke.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one covering jet, one safety jet, positive pressure ventilation and thermal imaging cameras (TICs) to extinguish the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
