Field fire – Clapham

At 4.40pm on Friday (18), crews from Bedford and Sandy were called to reports of smoke in the area near Twinwood Road, Clapham.

The fire involved an area of grass and short stubble measuring around one acre. Firefighters used one hose reel and one high-pressure lance to bring the fire under control.

Crews used a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots and continued damping down. Advice was given to the landowner.

The cause of the fire was accidental
