Fire in electrical store cupboard – Kempston

At 8.59am on Monday (28), crews from Ampthill and Bedford attended a fire on Farrer Street, Kempston.

The fire involved an electrical store cupboard in a two-storey house in multiple occupation (HMO).

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets, thermal imaging camera, small gear and positive pressure ventilation to extinguish the fire and check for hotspots.

Cutting away was carried out and electrics were isolated by UK Power Networks.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
