At 1.43pm on Tuesday (5) crews from Bedford, Kempston and Leighton Buzzard were called to an agricultural fire at West End, Haynes.
The fire involved trees and logs which spread to an industrial barn approximately 20m x 60m in size.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used three hose reels, a covering jet and a thermal imaging camera to tackle the blaze. All logs were removed from the side of the building and damping down was carried out using a hose reel. Two sets of breathing apparatus were dry stripped due to asbestos roofing, following advice from a Hazmat Officer.
The cause of the fire was accidental.
