Standing crop fire – Bedfordshire (what3words: inviting.beaker.gravitate)

At 6.41pm on Tuesday (5) crews from Bedford, Harrold and Sandy were called to a standing crop fire in Bedfordshire.

A 15‑acre field was involved, with around 8 acres damaged by fire. A fire break was created by the landowner. Firefighters used a hose reel, beaters, a thermal imaging camera, a drone and multi‑response vehicles to extinguish the blaze. Advice was given to the landowner.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
