House fire - Sandy

At 3.43pm on Wednesday (6) a crew from Potton and a crew from Sandy were called to a house fire in Pyms Way, Sandy. The fire was located in the kitchen of a semi-detached property of 2 floors. The ground floor kitchen was 100% affected by fire. 100% of the ground floor and first floor was damaged by smoke. Two dogs are now in the care of the owner and advised to attend the vets.

Firefighters using breathing apparatus used a hose reel and covering jet to extinguish the fire. They also used a positive pressure ventilation fan to help remove the smoke and a thermal imaging camera to check for hot spots.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
