Emergencies attended on Tuesday 12 August 2025
Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service attended 11 fire/rescue incidents between 8am on Tuesday 12 August and 8am on Wednesday 13 August.
At 11.35am on Tuesday (12) a crew from Luton were called to a garden fire in Oakley Close, Luton. The fire consisted of undergrowth and a fence.
Firefighters use a hose reel jet pack and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire.

At 12.20pm on Tuesday (12) a crew from Kempston were called to a large field fire in Knotting Green, Sharnbrook.
Firefighters assisted efforts being made by farm staff, using beaters to help extinguish the fire.

At 1pm a crew from Shefford were called to a small grass fire in Rope Walk, Bedford.
Firefighters used a hose reel to extinguish the fire.

At 1.39pm on Tuesday (12) a crew from Luton were called to a small pickup truck on fire in Bramingham Road, Luton.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reels to extinguish the fire.

At 1.57pm on Tuesday (12) a crew from Toddington and a crew from Woburn were called to a large fire in a field in Park Road, Westoning.
Firefighters used a hose reel, a high pressure lance and a thermal imaging camera, alongside the farmer's water bowser, to extinguish the fire.

At 2.15pm on Tuesday (12) a crew from Leighton Buzzard were called to three areas of grass fire at the sewage works in Globe Lane, Linslade.
Firefighters used a hose reel and beaters to extinguish the fire.

At 3.03pm on Tuesday (12) crews from Toddington and Woburn were called to a fire in the open in Luton Road, Chalton. The fire consisted of hedgerow and fencing.
Firefighters used bolt croppers to gain access to the field, and hose reels, high pressure lances and thermal imaging cameras to extinguish the fire.

At 6.31pm on Tuesday (11) a crew from Stopsley was called to investigate smoke in Brooms Road, Luton.
The smoke was from an unattended garden bonfire. Firefighters used a hose reel to extinguish the fire.

At 7pm on Tuesday (12) crews from Luton and Stopsley were called to investigate smoke in East Hyde, Luton.
The smoke was from a farm fire which had been extinguished by the farmer. The fire had spread to farm machinery, which firefighters extinguished using a hose reel and triple extension ladder.

At 7.59pm on Tuesday (12) a crew from Kempston were called to a small fire in Earls Holme, Kempston.
A member of the public had extinguished the fire. Firefighters used a thermal imaging camera to ensure it was fully extinguished.
At 9.14pm on Tuesday (11) a crew from Luton were called to a small garden rubbish fire in Dumfries Court, Luton.
Firefighters used a hose reel to extinguish the fire.
