Details of incidents attended by Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service
At 11.58am on Wednesday (10) a crew from Dunstable and two crews from Kempston were called to a water rescue of a deer at Chalgrave Manor Golf Club, Dunstable Road, Toddington.
Firefighters used reach poles and water rescue equipment to rescue the deer.
At 4.39pm on Wednesday (10) a crew from Bedford, a crew from Dunstable and three crews from Luton were called to a small fire in a light fitting in Cheviot House, Guildford Street, Luton.
Firefighters isolated the second floor stairwell and extinguished the fire.
The cause of the fire was accidental.
At 5.31pm on Wednesday (10) a crew from Ampthill was called to a kitchen fire in a single bed first floor flat in Ellenshaw Court, Hinksley Road, Flitwick. The fire measured approximately 60m x 10m and damaged 100% of the kitchen. Smoke damaged 100% of the kitchen and 50% of the flat.
Firefighters used a hose reel jet and a covering jet to extinguish the fire. Post fire ventiliation was used to help remove the smoke. All persons were accounted for and didnt show signs of injury.
The cause of the fire was accidental.
Ar 7pm on Wednesday (10) a crew from Bedford was called to a van on fire at Traylesfield Farm Lane, Ravendsen, Bedford. The van was fully destroyed by the fire.
Firefighters using breathing apparatus used one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire and a thermal imaging camera to check for hot spots.
The cause of the fire was deliberate.
At 10.41pm on Wednesday (10) a crew from Woburn was called to a chimney fire in Turnpike Road, Husborne Crawley. The fire was in the log burner flue pipe.
Firefighters used a chimney lance to help extinguish the fire and a thermal imaging camera to check for hot spots.
The cause of the fire was accidental.
