Details of incidents attended by Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service
At 6.55am, a crew from Kempston were called to a vehicle fire on the A6 south near Wilstead.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reels and thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire.
The cause of the fire was accidental.
At 9.11am on Sunday (14), crews from Bedford, Kempston and Leighton Buzzard were called to a fire in Eastdale Close, Kempston.
The incident involved a domestic building fire. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel to extinguish the fire and carried out damping down. One resident was conveyed to hospital by ambulance for smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire was accidental.
At 11.46am on Sunday (14), crews were called to a fire in Harling Road, Eaton Bray.
The incident involved a large rubbish fire consisting of building materials and shrubbery, measuring approximately 5m x 5m. Firefighters used one hose reel jet and two stack drags, to extinguish the fire and carried out damping down.
The cause of the fire was deliberate.
At 5.35pm on Sunday (14), crews were called to a fire in Dewsbury Road, Luton.
The incident involved a fire in a garden alley which spread to the ground floor kitchen of a two-storey semi-detached property. The kitchen sustained around 30% fire damage and the rest of the property suffered 100% smoke damage. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one hose reel jet, one covering jet, one safety jet to extinguish the blaze and positive pressure ventilation to clear smoke from the property.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
