Pass out parade celebrates latest Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service firefighters

Yesterday (Thursday 2 October) Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service celebrated 23 On-Call and three Fire Control Firefighters having successfully completed their rigorous training courses. The additions to the Team BedsFire family took part in a traditional pass out parade at Kempston fire station in front of proud friends, family and colleagues.
The firefighters demonstrated the skills perfected during their training in a demonstration for their guests. The scenario began with 999 calls into Fire Control reporting a building fire that the on-call firefighters then attended to. The building fire simulation enabled them to demonstrate their skills in using ladders, hoses and jets, and rescue.
Presenting the new recruits with their certificates was Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service’s Assistant Chief Fire Officer, Jim Davies. Speaking of their achievements, he said: “I’m immensely proud to have celebrated with such an amazing team of passionate and talented individuals.
“I’m certain they will go on to deliver many great outcomes for our communities and be seen by many as the leading light in different areas. Each of them has made their families proud and will have every opportunity to make our county and our Service proud in the years to come.”
Congratulations to FFC Parnham, Bland and Nixon; and FF Lambdon, Lammin, Newman, Fisher, Donohue, Paul, B Smith, Crone, Jones, McDougall, Parsons, Fielding, Byers, Wood, Clough, Taylor, Coles, Beddall, Winconek, Burlison, Fawcett, P Smith and Taylor.
